The winner of the pageant will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech and more than $3,000 in gift certificates and prizes from area businesses.  In all, more than $17,000 in gifts and scholarships will be awarded to contestants competing in the pageant.

The Miss Tech contestants have received several perks just for entering the pageant, including a free two-week membership to Back 2 Basics, mock interview opportunities, and modeling lessons with Joy Murphy.

The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant serves an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will compete in the Miss Arkansas Pageant this July in Hot Springs.  The Delta Zeta Sorority at Arkansas Tech sponsors the pageant, and Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture, serves as pageant executive director and master of ceremonies.
