Arkansas Tech University students wishing to learn more about the Miss Arkansas Tech Scholarship pageant will have the opportunity to attend an informational session this Thursday.

The informational session will be Thursday, November 15 at 9 p.m. in Dean Hall Room 124.

Students will receive information regarding how to fill out all required paperwork, how to select a critical issue, as well as how to register online for the Miss America’s National Platform Children’s Miracle Network.

Participants are also required to collect $100 for the CMN charity before the pageant.

Organizers say that the informational meeting is not a mandatory event, however it is highly encouraged for those who are interested in or even considering entering the pageant.

The 2013 Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is scheduled for February 22.

The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will compete in the 2012 Miss Arkansas Pageant this July in Hot Springs.

The Delta Zeta Sorority at Arkansas Tech sponsors the pageant, and Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture, serves as pageant executive director and master of ceremonies.
