Miss Tech Informational Meeting Set

Arkansas Tech University students wishing to learn more about competing in the Miss Arkansas Tech pageant will be able to attend an informational session this evening.

The informational session is scheduled to take place on Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. in Dean Hall Room 124.

Students attending the session will receive information regarding how to fill out the required paperwork and how to select a critical issue.

Additionally, attendees will learn how to register in the online system for Miss America’s national platform: Children’s Miracle Network. Participants are required to collect $100 for the CMN charity before the pageant.

The 2012 Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24.

Organizers say the meeting is not mandatory, but it is encouraged for those who are considering entering.

The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will compete in the 2012 Miss Arkansas Pageant this July in Hot Springs.

The Delta Zeta Sorority at Arkansas Tech sponsors the pageant, and Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture, serves as pageant executive director and master of ceremonies.
