9:21 p.m.– Miss Arkansas Loren McDaniel is performing her song from the Miss America Pageant
9:19 p.m.– Jerry the Bulldog is here and was able to get a picture with Miss Tech and Miss Arkansas
9:16 p.m.– Miss Tech Haven Brock is performing for the last time. She’s singing “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”
9:13 p.m.– Haven’s family is presenting her with flowers.
9:12 p.m.– Haven is offering several thank you’s for support throughout the year.
9:10 p.m.– Miss Tech Haven Brock is taking the stage and is presenting Dr. Collins with a gift.
9:08 p.m.– Miss Arkansas Loren McDaniel is providing additional entertainment.
9:07 p.m.– Dr. Collins is now welcoming all of visiting queens and executive directors.
9:05 p.m.– All phases of competition are now complete. The judges are tabulating now.
9:00 p.m.– We are halfway through the evening wear portion of the competition.
8:53 p.m.– It’s time for the last phase of the competition. The evening wear competition accounts for 20% of a contestant’s score.
8:43 p.m.– In all more than 10 former Miss Tech title holders are here tonight. The range in years from Miss Tech 1967 through Miss Tech 2014. What a special evening getting to hear what they’ve been up to over the years.
8:42 p.m.– There is a special reunion tonight for former winners of Miss Tech.
8:38 p.m.– Dr. Collins is introducing the judges this evening.
8:34 p.m.– They just dimmed the lights, so we’ll be starting soon.
8:21 p.m.– That wraps the talent portion. We’ll be back after intermission.
8:20 p.m.– Grace Evans is the final talent for the evening, and she is singing “Orange Colored Sky.”
8:17 p.m.– Carly Copeland is singing “There’s a Fine, Fine Line” from Avenue Q.
8:14 p.m.– Contestant number twelve Jordie Flippo is performing a dance to “Hallelujah.”

8:04 p.m.– Fun fact– Any Tech student that wins a Miss Arkansas preliminary pageant will receive a $1,000 scholarship next fall and $1,000 next spring.
8:01 p.m.– Ashley Wilson is performing a lyrical dance for talent.
7:59 p.m.– Up next is contestant number seven. She’s singing “Alone.”
7:57 p.m.– Meagan Halcomb is singing “House of the Rising Sun” for her vocal performance.
7:56 p.m.– Fun fact– Miss Tech gets a red staff hangtag.
7:53 p.m.– Contestant number five is Kelsey Stone, and she is singing “Hero.”
7:52 p.m.– The number of sponsors that make tonight possible is amazing. This is definitely a community pageant.
7:50 p.m.– Ashley Pearson is performing a sign language interpretation of “Alabaster Box” for her talent.
7:47 p.m.– Contestant number three Bethany Skaggs is offering a vocal performance for her talent.
7:44 p.m.– Cierra Martin is contestant number two, and she is singing “House of the Rising Sun”
7:42 p.m.– Freedim Leatherman is singing “Beautiful” for her talent this evening.
7:39 p.m.– Miss Tech Haven Brock is singing the song she performed at Miss Arkansas this summer– “I Dreamed a Dream”
7:35 p.m.– The swimsuit competition is in the books. The audience is giving a big round of applause to all the contestants.
7:27 p.m.– The next phase of competition is starting. Each contestant is participating in the swimsuit portion. This accounts for 15% of the competition.
7:22 p.m.– Miss Arkansas Loren McDaniel is singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
7:21 p.m.– The house lights are coming on, so the parents and grandparents of the contestants can be recognized.
7:17 p.m.– Dr. Collins is now explaining the judging for the competition this evening. Dr. Collins is also thanking the many sponsors.
7:10 p.m.– We are halfway through the questions. The students have great answers to a variety of tough questions.
7:08 p.m.– The contestant on-stage questions are underway. The questions are related to the contestant’s platform.
7:07 p.m.– Dr. Jim Collins has promised he’ll stick to the script tonight. If you’ve ever been to Miss Tech, you know that would be a different turn of events.
7:06 p.m.– Miss Tech Haven Brock is entering, and Miss Arkansas Loren McDaniel is joining her.
7:03 p.m.– The contestant introductions are underway. There are 14 ladies competing for the title.
6:57 p.m.– They just dimmed the lights, and Dr. Jim Collins is welcoming the audience.
6:40 p.m.– The pageant starts in about 20 minutes, and the auditorium is already filling up.
6:04 p.m.–The doors are open, and the Miss Tech pageant will get underway in less than an hour.
Arkansas Tech University will have a new representative for campus Friday evening following the annual Miss Tech Pageant.
The pageant begins at 7 p.m. in Witherspoon auditorium. For now, here’s more about the students competing for the title of Miss Arkansas Tech University.
