After only competing in four pageants, Arkansas Tech student Brandi Cromer is the 2011 Miss Arkansas Tech University. Cromer is a junior agriculture business major at Arkansas Tech and is from Lamar.
Cromer was selected from a field of 12 contestants to take home the title of Miss Arkansas Tech.
She says she was surprised to hear her name announced as the winner. She added. “I’m completely shocked, and it’s a little overwhelming.”
In addition to taking the Miss Tech title, Cromer was also the recipient of the interview award, which is presented to the contestant earning the most points in the private interview portion of the competition.
Cromer promoted Farm to Table for her critical issue and says she’s excited to have the opportunity to raise awareness for her critical issue. She adds, “I grew up on a farm and to have the opportunity to raise awareness about this is wonderful.”
Cromer was sponsored by Harvest Foods of Clarksville and Herman Houston.

- Swimsuit– (tie) Naiz Bolin and Brandi Cromer
- Miss Congeniality– (tie) Angel Sawyer, Teryn Laseter, Megan Milam and Savanna Knight
- Highest GPA Award- Courtney Mitchell
With the crown, Cromer receives a two-semester tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech, and she also receives more than $3,000 in gift certificates from area businesses. In all, more than $16,000 in gifts and scholarships were awarded during the pageant.
