Mireles to Perform in Concert Monday Night

Matthew Mireles will perform a guest euphonium recital at Arkansas Tech University on Monday, April 2.

Mireles will take the stage in Witherspoon Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Winner of the 2008 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Competition, Mireles holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University.

He went on to attain a Master of Music degree from the University of Alabama, and he will earn a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin this year.

Mireles is instructor of undergraduate euphonium as well as conductor of the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble and the University Band at the University of Wisconsin.

His recital at Arkansas Tech will include works by Rafael Mendez, Sigmund Romberg, John Stevens, Dave Ihlenfeld, Allen Vizzutti, Astor Piazzolla, Anthony Barfield and Pepe Guizar.
