McKown Elected to Board for Statewide Organization

Dr. Terri McKown

Dr. Terri McKown, professor of nursing at Arkansas Tech University and interim assistant head of the ATU Department of Nursing, was recently elected to the Arkansas Center for Nursing (ACN) Board of Directors.

McKown has served on the ATU faculty since 2004. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from ATU, a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Tennessee.

The ACN is a non-profit organization with a board of directors representing nursing and community leaders from Arkansas. The ACN was created to continue the work of the Arkansas Action Coalition, increase the workforce and data focus, collaborate with other organizations with similar goals and establish sustainable funding for the work.

The mission of ACN is to promote a culture of health for the citizens of Arkansas by advancing nursing education, practice, leadership and workforce development.
