McIsaac In Top 10 After Round One at NSU

Arkansas Tech’s Kyla McIsaac posted an opening-round 78 on Monday and is in a tie for eighth place entering the final round of the 12th annual Northeastern State University Golf Classic at Cherry Springs Golf Club in Tahlequah, Okla.

The final 18 holes of the first tournament of the season for the Golden Suns will be played on Tuesday.

McIsaac, a senior from Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, enters the final round five strokes off the lead. Northeastern State’s Whitney McAteer and Midwestern State’s Taylor Klutts both shot 73 on Monday to share the first-round lead.

Arkansas Tech is in 10th place in the team standings entering Tuesday. The Golden Suns posted a team score of 333 on Monday. Northeastern State shot 303 to grab a five-stroke lead over Midwestern State. A total of 16 teams are entered in the event.

Lizi Sweetnam (T-42nd, 84), Ana Morales (T-48th, 85), Alyssia Duvall (T-53rd, 86) and Niki Possage (T-60th, 89) are also competing for Tech in Tahlequah.
