McEver Hall Addition Open House Wednesday

Members of the Arkansas Tech community are invited to an open house for the recently completed McEver Hall expansion on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Faculty, staff and students will be able to tour the 10,500-square foot addition and enjoy refreshments in the McEver Hall east lobby from 2-4 p.m.

The new space includes classrooms, offices, biotech laboratories, a computer lab, a conference/seminar area, a zoology collection area and an anatomy preparation room.

The McEver Hall expansion project was tabled by the university in spring 2009 due to a lack of funding, but it was revived in June 2009 when Gov. Mike Beebe released $800,000 in general improvement funds to Arkansas Tech.

Construction on the project began on Sept. 22, 2009, and was completed at a cost of $2.279 million.
