Mayle, Bryant Choose Officer Candidate School

Two Arkansas Tech University seniors have made the decision to enlist in the Officer Candidate School (OCS) option through the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Two Arkansas Tech University seniors have made the decision to enlist in the Officer Candidate School (OCS) option through the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Glenn Mayle III (photographed, left) and Michael Bryant (photographed, right) will depart for basic training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla., following their graduation from Arkansas Tech in May 2013.

After basic training they will begin the 12-week Army OCS course, which focuses on instruction in leadership and teamwork. Mayle and Bryant both intend to pursue a career in military intelligence.

Mayle is studying sociology and criminal justice at Arkansas Tech. His hometown is White Hall.

Bryant is majoring in health and wellness science. He is a product of Heber Springs.
