11:40 a.m. — Good morning from the DeSoto Civic Center. Join us throughout today’s game between Arkansas Tech and Ouachita Baptist for updates as the Golden Suns seek their 10th berth in the championship game of the Gulf South Conference Tournament since 1998. Tip-off coming up at 12:30 p.m.

12:21 p.m. — Starters for Arkansas Tech: Jenny Vining, Laura Beth Anderson, Shaquilah Davis, Natalia Santos and Jessica Weatherford.

12:22 p.m. — Starters for OBU: A’Laeshia Adams, Domino Miller, Gabby Coleman, Beulau Osueke and Tamara Robinson.

12:36 p.m. — Four early points from Natalia Santos have given Arkansas Tech a 6-4 lead with 15:56 to go in the first half.

12:48 p.m. — Since switching to a zone defense, the Golden Suns have forced four OBU turnovers in rapid succession. Arkansas Tech leads 12-10 with 11:24 left until halftime. Tech just 3-of-11 from the field.

1:00 p.m. — Arkansas Tech held OBU without a made field goal for more than five minutes, but 11 Golden Suns’ turnovers have prevented them from pulling away. Arkansas Tech leads 18-13 with 7:52 left before the intermission.

1:10 p.m. — Using a 1-3-1 zone, the Golden Suns are putting on a defensive clinic. Ouachita Baptist is just 7-of-26 from the field and the Lady Tigers have turned it over 14 times. Arkansas Tech leads 30-18 with 3:58 left in the half.

1:22 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 42-21 at halftime. The Golden Suns hit nine of their final 14 field goal tries to end the half, but it’s been Tech’s defense that has made the difference. Ouachita Baptist is just 8-of-34 (24 percent) from the field, and the Lady Tigers have committed 17 turnovers. Laura Beth Anderson has 11 points and Natalia Santos has 10 points to lead the Golden Suns.

1:50 p.m. — Arkansas Tech committed have committed seven turnovers in the first 4:56 of the second half. Ouachita Baptist went on a 10-0 run to cut the Suns’ lead to 42-31, but Jenny Vining hit a 3-pointer for Tech to stop the spurt. Tech now leads 47-33 with 15:04 left.

1:57 p.m. — Jenny Vining has hit three 3-pointers since halftime to allow the Golden Suns to fight off OBU’s comeback bid. The Suns lead 57-35 with 11:46 to go. OBU is 2-of-19 from 3-point range.

2:09 p.m. — Arkansas Tech opened a 63-39 lead, but Ouachita Baptist has scored six straight points to cut into its deficit. The Suns hold a 63-45 edge with 7:54 to go. Laura Beth Anderson with 17 points, six rebounds and six assists for Tech.

2:15 p.m. — Tech leads 67-48 at the 6:34 mark.

2:25 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 75-57 with 3:35 left. Ouachita Baptist is 17-of-65 (26 percent) from the field.

2:44 p.m. — Arkansas Tech wins 89-73. More details to come after radio broadcast.

2:49 p.m. — Laura Beth Anderson had 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals to pace the Golden Suns today. Natalia Santos and Katie Horsman added 18 points apiece. Jenny Vining scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half. Shaquilah Davis grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds.

2:51 p.m. — The Golden Suns will face either Delta State or Harding in the GSC Tournament championship game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Miss.
