11:00 a.m. — Thank you for joining us for our live blog from the 2011 Gulf South Conference Tournament women’s championship game.

11:05 a.m. — This will be the third meeting between Arkansas Tech and Delta State this season, and after 80 minutes of basketball the cumulative score between the two sides is tied at 130-130. Today’s game will break that tie, determine the GSC Tournament champion and could decide which of these two teams will host the NCAA Division II South Regional next weekend.

11:50 a.m. — Delta State defeated Arkansas Tech 68-58 in Cleveland, Miss., on Jan. 22 in the first meeting this season between these two teams. Click here to read a recap of that game.

11:20 a.m. — The Golden Suns bounced back to defeat the Lady Statesmen 72-62 in Russellville on Feb. 19. Click here to read a recap of that contest.

11:30 a.m. — This is the eighth time since 1999 that Arkansas Tech and Delta State have met in the GSC Tournament championship game. The Lady Statesmen defeated the Golden Suns in this game in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2007 and 2008. Arkansas Tech broke through last season with a 75-73 double overtime victory over Delta State in the 2010 GSC Tournament final. Click here to read a story about last year’s championship game.

11:35 a.m. — Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. this afternoon. Check back with us as that time approaches and we’ll post the starters for today’s game.

12:53 p.m. — Arkansas Tech starters: Natalia Santos, Jenny Vining, Laura Beth Anderson, Shaquilah Davis and Jessica Weatherford.

12:54 p.m. — Delta State starters: Bug Cooper, Sheena Johnson, Moe Bell, Shameka Russell and Veronica Walker.

1:12 p.m. — Arkansas Tech owns an early 5-4 lead with 15:57 left before halftime. The Suns are 2-of-6 from the field and have committed three turnovers. Delta State is 2-of-6 from the field and has committed five turnovers.

1:23 p.m. — The Golden Suns opened an 11-4 lead with 14:20 to go in the half on a Jenny Vining layup, but six straight points by Veronica Walker have cut Tech’s edge to 11-10 with 11:57 left until halftime. A combined 17 turnovers so far.

1:27 p.m. — Six straight Arkansas Tech points — Suns lead 17-10 with 10:10 to go in half.

1:34 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 17-12 with 7:43 left in the first half. Laura Beth Anderson has seven points for the Golden Suns. Sheena Johnson has six points for Delta State.

1:42 p.m. — Delta State’s Tamara Reed hit a 3-pointer with 3:52 left in the half to cut the Arkansas Tech lead to 24-19. The Suns are 9-of-22 (41 percent) from the field.

1:49 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 26-19 with 1:21 left in the first half.

1:56 p.m. — The Golden Suns hold a 28-23 halftime lead. Jenny Vining has eight points and Laura Beth Anderson has seven points for Arkansas Tech, which is 10-of-26 (39 percent) from the field. The Suns have scored 19 points off turnovers. Sheena Johnson and Veronica Walker have eight points apiece for Delta State.

2:23 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 34-29 with 15:58 to go. Laura Beth Anderson with 12 points to lead all scorers. Veronica Walker has 11 points for DSU.

2:31 p.m. — Delta State uses an 8-2 run to take a 40-38 lead with 12:49 left.

2:34 p.m. — Two Jessica Weatherford free throws tie the score 40-40 at the 11:55 mark. Laura Beth Anderson is on the bench with four fouls.

2:44 p.m. — Arkansas Tech has gone on an 8-1 spurt and the Golden Suns lead 48-44 with 7:30 left. Jenny Vining with 13 points for Tech. Moe Bell has hit four 3-pointers since halftime for Delta.

2:50 p.m. — Suns lead 55-51 with 5:05 to go.

2:55 p.m. — Arkansas Tech leads 55-51 with 3:58 left. Laura Beth Anderson checks in with four fouls.

3:00 p.m. — Golden Suns lead 59-53 with 2:19 to go. Shaquilah Davis out with injury for Tech.

3:04 p.m. — Suns in front 63-56 with 1:27 left.

3:11 p.m. — GSC CHAMPIONS! Golden Suns win 73-62. More details after radio broadcast is over.

3:23 p.m. — Laura Beth Anderson had 22 points, six rebounds and three assists for Arkansas Tech. Jenny Vining had 19 points. They were both 10-of-10 from the free throw line and Tech was 32-of-36 (89 percent) at the line as a team. The Golden Suns finished with a 31-13 edge in points off turnovers.

3:37 p.m. — Jenny Vining was named GSC Tournament most valuable player. Laura Beth Anderson and Natalia Santos also represented Arkansas Tech on the All-GSC Tournament team.
