Colton Little was named Mr. Arkansas Tech University 2018 on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The competition was held in ATU’s Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall in Russellville and hosted by Delta Zeta sorority.
“To me, being crowned is more than just a title,” said Little. “It is the physical representation of someone who embodies the spirit of Arkansas Tech. The spirit of fearlessness, innovation, charisma and excellence. I am very humbled to hold that title and it means a great deal to me to be able to say that I am a face of notoriety and importance on this campus that I have devoted so much time and love to.”
Little is a sophomore from Gentry. He was crowned by sophomore Madison Oswalt of Harrison, Miss Arkansas Tech University 2018.
“Being a Mr. Tech contestant was an absolute blast,” said Little. “It was a really fun time to go out there and make so many people laugh and have a good time, even if it was at my own expense. The ladies of Delta Zeta did a great job, as always, and they really outdid themselves this year. Mr. Tech 2018 was a great time from start to finish. The best part was just going out on stage and having all of your friends and peers cheer you on as you go up there and compete. It was a huge privilege to win the title, but a greater one just to be able to compete. It was so fun to have all of the other contestants root for each other as well, even though we were all from different fraternities across campus and we have our own little rivalries, we came together to support our friends and had a really enjoyable time doing it. The other nine guys that went out on stage really did a great job and left it all out there. I am proud to have competed with them.”
A broadcast journalism major, Little holds membership in Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is on pace to graduate from ATU in May 2021.
“Being Mr. Tech is so much more than just wearing a crown and a sash after singing a contemporary 1990s Disney song,” said Little. “Being Mr. Tech is being a man of the people and a man who truly bleeds green and gold through and through.”
