Seven Arkansas Tech University alumni are among the 2010 Leadership Russellville Class that is scheduled to graduate on Friday.
The group will graduate during a luncheon at Westside Church of Christ in Russellville. The luncheon is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday, and those wishing to attend may reserve tickets by contacting the Russellville Chamber of Commerce Office at 479-968-2530.
Today is the deadline to reserve tickets, and all chamber members are invited.
According to the Russellville Chamber website, the Leadership Russellville program is “designed to identify, educate, and motivate potential community leaders to become involved in the future of the community by addressing the realities, opportunities, and challenges of the community.”
Program participants learn about the Russellville community over the course of several months, and each class also works to complete a service project.
This year’s group partnered with the Russellville Fire Department to raise awareness about the importance of smoke alarms. The group also raised funds and purchased several hundred alarms for those in the community who could not afford them.
The following Tech alumni will graduate from Leadership Russellville on Friday:

- Carrie Harris Phillips
- Donny Rogers
- Allison Smedley
- Robert Veach
- Mary Wood
Additionally, Misty Housley, Jason Oliver and Syr Johnathan Duncan are also scheduled to graduate from Leadership Russellville on Friday.
