Leaders to be Recognized Tonight

Student leaders on the Arkansas Tech campus will be recognized Monday for their outstanding service and contributions to campus at the 2012 Student Leadership Banquet.

Student leaders on the Arkansas Tech campus will be recognized Monday for their outstanding service and contributions to campus at the 2012 Student Leadership Banquet.

The Alfred J. Crabaugh Award and the Margaret Young Award will be presented to the top female and male graduating students, in addition to many other awards that will be given to students throughout the evening.

The Office of Residence life will recognize an outstanding hall government, educational program, social program and several individuals.

The Office of Campus Recreation will announce a male and female “Memory Maker,” which is someone who stood out in intramural sports with their sportsmanship and perseverance.

The Office of Greek Life will recognize an Outstanding Greek Female and Outstanding Greek Male, and its student leadership.

Student Government Association will recognize several senators and present the new executive board. President Roger Norman will officially pass the gavel to the newly elected president.

Additionally, the Arkansas Tech Division of Student Services will recognize its student leadership on the Student Activities Board and the 36 students who represent Arkansas Tech in the 2012 edition of the Who's Who Among American College and University Students.

Student organizations were able to nominate student leaders, outstanding programs and outstanding advisors for recognition at the annual banquet, and winners will be announced in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Club or Organization
  • Most Improved Student Organization
  • Community Service Project of the Year
  • Charitable Fundraiser of the Year
  • Event/Program of the Year
  • Club or Organization President of the Year
  • Club or Organization Member of the Year
  • Outstanding Faculty/Staff Advisor
  • Outstanding Volunteer Advisor
  • Green and Gold Spirit Award
