Brian Lasey was selected by the Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees to serve as the next director of the Arkansas Tech Physical Plant during a board meeting on Thursday.
Lasey has served as assistant director of the Arkansas Tech Physical Plant since July 2007. He first came to the university as a member of the Arkansas Tech Academic Advising Center staff in 2005.
Lasey will succeed Dennis Hill, who will retire on Aug. 31 after 19 years of service to Arkansas Tech.
“I am looking forward to taking the reins of our department,” said Lasey, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla (now the Missouri University of Science and Technology). “I will enjoy working with plant employees and our customers across campus to continually improve the services we provide and the overall condition of our campus.”
The Arkansas Tech Physical Plant is responsible for the overall maintenance of the campus, including building repairs, custodial services, issuance of keys, landscaping, grounds keeping and the motor pool.
