Wednesday is the final day for students to submit an application to take part in the L :EAD Academy. The new leadership program is sponsored by Student Life and is designed to prepare students for leadership roles on campus, in the community and in their futures.
Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to discover individual strengths and apply various leadership techniques. Organizers say students will have several opportunities to examine how they approach leadership and learn skills to enhance their abilities.
“Today simply having a great GPA isn’t enough for students to find jobs after graduation,” said Justine Tozer, graduate assistant for student involvement. “This program will give participants a chance to expand their leadership skills, become more marketable to future employers, and better serve as leaders within many aspects of their lives.”
The first phase of the program lasts seven weeks and will target discovering individuals’ strengths and how to interact with other’s strengths as well. There are sessions open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays through out September and October.
