Jones to Become Associate Dean of Business

Dr. Stephen C. Jones, a member of the Arkansas Tech University faculty since 2005, will begin duties as associate dean of the Arkansas Tech College of Business on July 1.

Jones (photographed) will assist Dr. Ed Bashaw, dean of the Arkansas Tech College of Business, in the administration of the college and its offerings in accounting, business data analytics, business education, economics and finance and management and marketing.

The promotion of Jones to associate dean of business was approved by the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees during its May meeting.

Jones will maintain the academic rank of associate professor of management.

A 1981 graduate of Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, Jones went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University).

Jones attained his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in 1998.

He is the immediate past president of the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, a national organization that seeks to improve the “effectiveness and impact of small business teaching and consultation in colleges and universities.”

The Arkansas Tech College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a mark of distinction shared by only the top five percent of schools of business around the globe.
