Jim Rofkahr Named Honorary Member

 

Mr. Jim Rofkahr of Scranton was named an honorary member to the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus on October 21.

Rofkahr graduated from Arkansas Valley Vocational Technical School in 1987 with a Technical Certificate in Electronic Technology. He also took a night course in Automation Maintenance Technology. During his tenure he received two awards, both third place in industrial electronics, while competing in Vocational Industrial Clubs of America State Competition.

He has worked in industry for 30 years, from 1980 to 1986 with Singer Company producing Craftsman power tools on the automated field core and armature lines. Then from 1987 to present with Tyson Animal Foods, and has served in a management role for the past 23 years.

Rofkahr was appointed and served on the Electronics Board of Advisors at Arkansas Valley Technical Institute from 1997 to 2000 and on the Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus Board of Advisors from 2004 to present.

His hobbies include gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing, and wine making. He owns and operates a registered hunting club with Arkansas Game and Fish, as well as a timber/hay farm.

He has been married to his wife Nancy for 31 years, has two children and five grand children.
