Jerry the Bulldog Honorary K-9 Officer 7-15-2021
Officers from the Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety celebrated the eighth birthday of Jerry the Bulldog, ATU campus ambassador, by recognizing Jerry as an honorary K-9 officer.

Jerry the Bulldog’s eighth birthday party included a surprise.

Officers from the Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety served Jerry with a framed certificate recognizing him as an honorary K-9 officer.

The certificate was signed by Joshua McMillian, chief of the ATU Department of Public Safety, and presented by Krystle Manning, patrol officer and community outreach coordinator for the ATU Department of Public Safety.

The presentation was made Thursday, July 15, at the Hull Building Student Union.

Jerry Charles Young I was born on July 17, 2013. The Arkansas Tech Student Government Association restored a tradition that had been lost for 76 years on Oct. 23, 2013, when it cast a unanimous vote to install Jerry as ATU campus ambassador. He was introduced during a Homecoming Saturday ceremony on Oct. 26, 2013.

Jerry has served as campus ambassador ever since, attending a variety of campus events and alumni gatherings each year as well as Wonder Boys and Golden Suns athletic competitions.
