Members of the Arkansas Tech University Jazz Ensemble will perform a program that includes several familiar tunes on Monday, Nov. 23.
The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Witherspoon Auditorium. Admission will be free and open to the public.
Among the most popular numbers on the program are “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” which was written and first recorded by Duke Ellington in 1940; “Wichita Lineman,” which was written by Jimmy Webb and made famous by Arkansan Glen Campbell after he recorded it in 1968; and “Play That Funky Music,” the indomitable funk disco classic written by Wild Cherry lead singer Rob Parissi and recorded by the band in 1975.
