Arkansas Tech University students will have an opportunity to give back to the local community as part of iServe Week 2016.
Throughout the week, students will have several chances to get involved in the community and to be inspired by other leaders.
The schedule for the week is as follows:
Monday
- Next Step Run film screening
- 6 p.m. at the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall
- The film screening discusses the stories of four women running for elective office
Tuesday
- Headbands of Hope: Jess Ekstrom
- 6 p.m. at the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall
- This speaker discusses ways students can make a difference
Wednesday
- Action day with River Valley Assisted Living
- 2-4 p.m. at River Valley Assisted Living
- Students will be able to make crafts and enjoy conversation with residents
Thursday
- Action day with Pope County Library
- 3-5 p.m. at Pope County Library
- Students will help sort, organize and inventory books
Friday & Saturday
- National Civil Rights Museum Trip
- 2 p.m. Friday departure
- Students will spend Friday evening in Memphis doing service and touring the Civil Rights Museum
