International Pairing to Offer Concert at Arkansas Tech

Vesna Duo

Vesna Duo will perform a concert at Arkansas Tech University on Monday, Nov. 21.

The show, which is presented by the ATU Department of Music, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Witherspoon Auditorium, 407 West Q Street in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Dr. Liana Pailodze Harron (piano) and Dr. Ksenija Komljenović (percussion) are the members of Vesna Duo. Harron is from the Republic of Georgia, while Komljenović is from Serbia. According to their website, together they “embrace their dynamic backgrounds while exploring a diverse blend of musical traditions, cultures and styles.”

Their 2022 recording of “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky was described by Kira Grunenberg of National Public Radio as a “masterclass in performative focus, as well as an exquisite demonstration of musician chemistry to the most natural and audibly entrancing of results…unto itself, Vesna Duo’s take on ‘The Rite of Spring’ is impressive, unexpected, whimsical and beautifully captured.”
