International Education Week

During November 15 through 19, Arkansas Tech University will be celebrating International Education Week 2010.

Each day, Chambers Cafeteria will serve a daily international lunch. Monday is Hispanic, Tuesday is Japanese, Wednesday is American Thanksgiving, Thursday is Italian, and Friday is Greek.

On Monday, Nov. 15, students will present the International Fashion Show. Traditional clothing from around the world will be featured from noon to 1 p.m. in Doc’s Place.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, “International Perspectives: Classrooms Around the World” introduces a panel of international students to discuss the role and importance of education and how classes are different in their respective countries.

The international movie “Kite Runner” will show on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall. This event is co-sponsored by Student Activities Board. An informal discussion about the movie will follow.

On Thursday, Nov. 17 there will be a 50 Minute Tour of Japan and Japan Study Abroad from noon to 1 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall.

On Friday, Nov. 18 the Immigration Law Seminar will be presented by Immigration Attorney Guillermo Hernandez in the Doc Bryan Multi-purpose Room (242) from noon to 1 p.m.

Also on Friday, The International Festival and Talent Expo will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in Chambers East Dining Hall.

Additionally, a photo contest themed “global culture” is also being sponsored with the grand prize winner receiving $100. Read more about the contest.
