International Education Week Begins Today

Arkansas Tech University will be celebrating International Education Week 2011 this week.

Today at noon, students presented the International Fashion Show. Traditional clothing from around the world was featured from noon to 1 p.m. in the Doc’s Place.

Tomorrow, “International Perspectives: Growing Up Around the World” will introduce a panel of international students to discuss their experiences growing up. Topics will include daily routine, roles of education, popular childhood games and stories and their memory of world events. This event will be held in the Doc Bryan Multipurpose Room at noon.

On Wednesday, students are invited to participate in an International Trivia Competition in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, there will be a 50 Minute Tour of Saudi Arabia by student Jala Albaqshi from noon to 1 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall.

On Friday, Nov. 18, the International Festival and Talent Expo will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall. The winners of the “Growing Up” photo contest will be announced at the Expo.

The events are sponsored by the International and Multicultural Student Services Office.
