Identity Theft Prevention Workshop

Arkansas Tech students, faculty and staff will have the chance to learn more about the dangers of identity theft next week when a representative from the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office will be on the Arkansas Tech campus.

Stephan Svetz will present a program about identify theft on Wednesday, April 21 at 9 a.m. in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Lecture Hall.

During the program, Svetz will discuss the growing problem of identity theft, ways to protect against identity theft and the mitigation process.  Organizers say those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning identity theft issues at the conclusion of Svetz’s presentation.

Svetz joined the Attorney General’s Office in 2001 having previously served as the chief investigator handling financial complaints related to credit card fraud and identity theft.

He is a certified law enforcement instructor, and he currently heads the identity theft passport program at the Attorney General’s Office.
