Arkansas Tech students, faculty and staff are learning more about some of the potential dangers of identity theft today. A representative from the Arkansas Arkansas Attorney General’s Office will be on the Tech campus to discuss the issue this morning.
Stephan Svetz will present a program about identify theft at 9 a.m. in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Lecture Hall.
During the program, Svetz will discuss the growing problem of identity theft, ways to protect against identity theft and the mitigation process. Organizers say those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning identity theft issues at the conclusion of Svetz’s presentation.
Svetz has worked in the Attorney General’s Office for nearly a decade, and he has also worked as the chief investigator handling financial complaints related to credit card fraud and identity theft.
He is a certified law enforcement instructor, and he currently heads the identity theft passport program at the Attorney General’s Office.
