HPEWS Club Kicks Off 2011-12 With Picnic

The Arkansas Tech University Health, Physical Education and Wellness Science (HPEWS) Club began its 2011-12 schedule of events with a picnic for current and prospective members outside the Hull Physical Education Building on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The picnic included a hamburger supper and a variety of games. More than 125 students attended the event.

“We want to encourage students to get involved with the HPEWS Club,” said Jordan Parton, vice president of the student organization. “Who you know is important in our professions, so being involved with the HPEWS Club is a great chance to get to know people and make connections that will be important in the future.”

Pete Kelly, Diane Walters and Dr. Rockie Pederson from the Arkansas Tech Department of Health and Physical Education serve as advisors for the HPEWS Club.
