Debra Howard, a member of the Arkansas Tech University Bookstore staff for more than two decades, has been named interim manager of the bookstore effective Monday, Nov. 21, 2016.
Howard succeeds Rachel Bullock, who resigned to pursue a career in instructional design with the Public Broadcasting Service.
“With 21 years of experience in the bookstore at Arkansas Tech University, I am confident Debra Howard will provide the expert leadership we need for this very important position,” said Bernadette Hinkle, vice president for administration and finance. “She understands all aspects of the job.”
Howard joined the Arkansas Tech Bookstore staff in 1995 as a shipping and receiving clerk. Her most recent role has been assisting with textbook adoptions, ordering and inventory as well as helping run the bookstore operations.
A former ground radio operator in the U.S. Air Force, Howard attended Emporia State University and the University of Kansas with an emphasis in liberal arts.
