Arkansas Tech's Katie Horsman is the Great American Conference women's basketball player of the week for Feb. 21.
Horsman averaged 20.5 points per game last week in Golden Suns' wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State and Henderson State. She connected on 8-of-19 3-point shots and 12-of-15 free throws during the week.
A senior forward from Fairfield Bay, Horsman is averaging 13.4 points per game this season. She ranks eighth in the GAC in scoring, and she leads the conference in free throw shooting percentage (.895), 3-point shooting percentage (.443) and 3-point field goals made (2.5 per game).
Horsman joins fellow senior forwards Natalia Santos and Samanta Ludwig as Golden Suns who have been named GAC player of the week this season.
Arkansas Tech (20-3 overall, 11-3 GAC) will visit Ouachita Baptist for a 5:30 p.m. league contest at Vining Arena in Arkadelphia on Thursday, Feb. 23. Radio station KWKK 100.9 FM will have the broadcast, which will be streamed over the Internet at www.athletics.atu.edu.
