As Homecoming 2010 approaches, student organizations are kicking into competition mode to get ready for float building, campaigning for a queen nominee and organizing volunteer efforts.
Another important aspect of Homecoming not to be forgotten is canvas painting. Each year, students paint a canvas depicting the theme for the year. Canvases will hang in the Doc Bryan courtyard for students and visiting alumni to admire.
This year, the theme for students is “Around the World.”
Homecoming canvases will be available for students to pick up on Monday, Oct. 4 in Doc Bryan Student Services Office, Room 233.
Canvases will be due back to the same location on Monday, Oct. 11 at noon.
Prizes for the competition are as follows:
1st place – $300
2nd place – $200
3rd place – $100
Due to limited hanging space, it is suggested that student organizations participating pick up their canvas as early as possible to ensure they will receive a one for the competition. Canvases are first come first serve.
