Hispanic Expo Draws High School Students to ATU

ATU Hispanic Expo 2019
The Arkansas Tech University Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi hosted a Hispanic expo for Arkansas high school students during the 2019-20 academic year.

Approximately 175 high school students representing five Arkansas communities participated in the 2019 Hispanic Expo hosted by the Sigma Delta Pi chapter at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Students from Arkadelphia, Dover, Lamar, Pottsville and White Hall learned more about the language, cultures and customs of eight Spanish-speaking countries: Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Spain.

Sigma Delta Pi at ATU was named a Sigma Delta Pi Honor Chapter for its activities during the 2018-19 academic year.

Only 16 chapters across the United States earned the Sigma Delta Pi Honor Chapter distinction for 2018-19. This is the fourth time that the Arkansas Tech chapter has earned the award. It was also recognized as an honor chapter in 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2015-16.
