High School Students Invited to Tech Open House

The Office of Enrollment Management at Arkansas Tech University will host its fourteenth annual Tech Open House in conjunction with Homecoming.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10:30 a.m.-noon, high school students will gather on the third floor of Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center to visit with representatives from every academic program on campus in one single location.

“Tech Open House gives prospective students an opportunity to visit in a relaxed atmosphere with the dean of the college, chair of the department, or a faculty member in their area of academic interest,” said Shauna Donnell, assistant vice president for enrollment management.

“With Tech’s progressive advancements in curriculum and technology, it is necessary for anyone who is considering the pursuit of an advanced degree to actively investigate the numerous and diverse programs offered,” Donnell said.

In addition to exploring academic studies, many student support offices will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.  The Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Residential Life, Academic Advising, Athletics and representatives from the University Honors program will all be available to visit with students.

Prospective students and their families may take tours of the campus with a special opportunity to see housing facilities. Students who attend Tech Open House will be given complimentary tickets to see the Homecoming game between Arkansas Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma.

During Tech Open House, prospective students will be entered to win a tuition scholarship for the Fall 2012 semester. The lucky winner will be announced during the football game.
