Hicks Wins Essay Contest

“Intelligence is not the knowledge gained by study groups or the presentations given in class, but the application of this knowledge to real-world situations in ways that benefit women of all professions,” wrote Hicks. “Intelligence is learning to recognize someone’s true potential regardless of their ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation. This intelligence has been taught to us through college, through living arrangements, campus activities, and the relationships formed.” International Women’s Day has existed since 1908 and it has been celebrated on March 8 of each year since 1914. The 2014 International Women’s Week at Arkansas Tech was presented by the Arkansas Tech Office of Student Services.  ]]>
