Freshman Parker Hale shot Arkansas Tech’s low round of the day during the first round of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional at Wilson Country Club in Wilson, N.C., on Monday.
Hale (photographed) toured the 6,839-yard layout in 4-over par 75. He is tied for 62nd place after 18 holes.
The Wonder Boys are in 19th place among a 20-team field following the opening round. Tech had a team score of 305 on Monday. Lander University is in first place after accumulating a first-round team score of 282.
Ryan Hitt (T-76th, 76), Colton Dillard (T-85th, 77), Drew Richards (T-85th, 77) and Jonathon Spikes (T-89th, 78) are also representing Arkansas Tech in the event.
The Wonder Boys will return to the course for the second round on Tuesday.
