Arkansas Tech’s Laura Farney earned her third consecutive Gulf South Conference West Division offensive volleyball player of the week award when the latest weekly awards were announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Farney, a 6-foot junior outside hitter from Morton, Ill., was error-free in 47 attack attempts last week. She made 21 kills, 23 digs, three blocks and a service ace while helping the Golden Suns post league victories over Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas.
For the season, Farney has 207 kills against 76 attack errors in 530 attack attempts for a hitting percentage of .247. She ranks fourth in the GSC in kills this season.
Farney’s play has helped the Suns win nine consecutive matches, seven of which have been 3-0 shutout victories.
Arkansas Tech (14-3 overall, 2-0 GSC) will host Harding University for a 7 p.m. GSC match at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
