Green Zone Training Resumes at ATU

Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff will have six opportunities to become Green Zone certified through the ATU Office of Veteran Services during the fall 2018 semester.

The initiative, believed to be the first of its kind in Arkansas, will provide faculty and staff with training that will better prepare them to serve the needs of military-affiliated students. All faculty and staff are eligible to become Green Zone certified.

The training sessions for faculty and staff will take place on the following dates and times in Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 242:

  • Thursday, Sept. 13, 1:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 21, 9 a.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2:30 p.m.

Each session lasts approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Seventy members of the ATU faculty and staff became Green Zone certified during training sessions offered before the beginning of the fall 2018 semester.

Space for each session is limited to the first 40 registrants. Those interested in securing a spot in an upcoming Green Zone training session may contact Shelly Hall at (479) 968-0445 or shall2@atu.edu.
