The City of Russellville and Pope County will honor Arkansas Tech basketball on Friday.
Russellville Mayor Bill Eaton and Pope County Judge Jim Ed Gibson are proclaiming Friday as “Green and Gold Day.”
River Valley residents are encouraged to don green and gold to show support for Arkansas Tech basketball.
Arkansas Tech will host the NCAA Division II South Regional for women’s basketball. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday and will run through Monday evening.
The Golden Suns will face Fort Valley State at 6 p.m. Friday evening at Tucker Coliseum.
Meanwhile, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will travel Huntsville, Alabama, to face Benedict College. The Wonder Boys game is slated to begin at 8:30 p.m.
For Arkansas Tech fans wishing to purchase new green and gold gear before the games, the Arkansas Tech Bookstore will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.
