Greek Week is Underway

Greeks at Arkansas Tech have already begun the celebration of the annual Greek Week.

Yesterday, men and women competed in Game Day events such as dizzy bat, dodge ball, tug-of-war, and flag football.

Tuesday is Badgewear Day. Greek students will be dressed up throughout the day. Members are required to check in at Doc Bryan between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to receive points for their chapter.

The Greek God and Goddess Pageant will be on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall. Admission to the pageant is $1. The pageant will be based on on-stage question, toga wear, letter wear, talent, and philanthropic platform.

Thursday, Greeks will be competing in basketball, volleyball and sand volleyball. Games begin at 5 p.m. Basketball and volleyball will be in Hull, and sand volleyball will be outside of Turner Hall.

Chapters can receive points for participation and sportsmanship throughout the week.

Additionally, chapters had an opportunity to garner points last month by writing letters for Up ‘til Dawn.

Points will be gathered and added and winners will be announced at the semi-formal Greek Week Awards Banquet on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Young Game Room.

The first place winner in each of the sorority and fraternity divisions will receive half of the Greek Week proceeds to donate to their philanthropies. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will split the other half to donate to their respective philanthropies.
