Graduate Assistants Prepare for Fall

Many students are still enjoying their summer vacation, but one group of Arkansas Tech students is already looking ahead to fall.  The 2012-2013 graduate assistants in the Office of Student Services are back on campus to take part in training.

Throughout the month of July, approximately 20 students will be taking part to prepare for serving as resident directors or assisting with a specific area within the Office of Student Services.

Organizers say the training helps the graduate assistants understand the Arkansas Tech University campus, the services it provides to its students and how the Office of Student Services operates as a whole.

During the training, the graduate assistants are meeting with members of the Arkansas Tech community. Some of the topics covered in the training sessions include advising, emergency response, residence hall policies, social media and event promotion.

Additionally, the graduate students have planning time to complete preparations for their individual areas of responsibilities.
