Members of the Arkansas Tech University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists participated in Google tools training seminars on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
The seminars were led by Dan Petty, director of audience strategy for ProPublica. He was part of the Denver Post staff that won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize in breaking news and has also worked for MediaNews Group.
ATU students who participated in the seminars learned how to more effectively use YouTube, Google Trends, Google Scholar and advanced search in their information gathering and reporting.
