Golden Suns, Wonder Boys Return to Road

Sophomore forward Caroline Eubanks has averaged 18.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game during Tech’s current winning streak. The Golden Suns have surged into fifth place in the Great American Conference standings, and they are only one-and-a-half games behind third place. Three of the last four women’s basketball meetings between Arkansas Tech and Ouachita Baptist at Vining Arena have been decided by four points or less. About the Lady Tigers: Ouachita Baptist has won two of its last three games, including a 71-61 victory at Southern Nazarene University on Saturday. Senior guard Nashia James scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and made three steals in the victory. Ouachita Baptist forced the Crimson Storm into 20 turnovers. James leads the Lady Tigers and ranks 11th in the GAC in scoring (14.6 points per game). James scored a game-high 21 points to lead OBU to a 72-60 victory over Arkansas Tech at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Jan. 9. The Wonder Boys overcame a 14-point first half deficit and a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the Tigers 66-54 at Tucker Coliseum on Jan. 9. Arkansas Tech was 13-of-17 (77 percent) from the field and 20-of-29 (69 percent) from the free throw line in the second half. Tech is in second place in the GAC men’s basketball standings, one game behind front-running East Central University. The Wonder Boys are on a three-game winning streak and they have earned four victories in their last five games. About the Tigers: Ouachita Baptist will need to play well the final three weeks of the regular season in order to return to Bartlesville, Okla., March 6-9 and have a chance to defend the GAC Tournament championship it won last March.
