Both the team and individual first-place trophies from the 2015 Great American Conference Preview made the trip home to Russellville with the Arkansas Tech University women’s golf team on Tuesday.
The Golden Suns posted a 36-hole team total of 597 at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City and defeated Henderson State University on the first playoff hole to win the team title.
Tech’s Anna Frandsen crushed the field in the individual standings, returning scores of 69-70 for a 139 total and an eight-stroke victory among 63 players.
Avery Struck (T-6th, 76-75-151), Jessica Sachs (T-9th, 80-73-153), Pia Nunbhakdi (T-13th, 79-75-154) and Caroline Fredensborg (T-24th, 82-77-159) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ team championship.
Arkansas Tech will close out the fall portion of its 2015-16 women’s golf schedule Oct. 26-27 at the UIS Island Getaway in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
