Arkansas Tech University left the other 13 women’s golf teams competing in the 2019 St. Edward’s University Invitational in its dust on Monday and Tuesday.
The nationally sixth-ranked Golden Suns posted team scores of 301-302 for a 603 total and a 17-stroke victory at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas.
Pia Nunbhakdi led Arkansas Tech to victory by finishing second in the individual standings. She fired rounds of 73-73 for a 36-hole total of 146.
Peerada Piddon (4th, 72-78-150), Allie Weiner (T-5th, 79-73-152), Jacqueline Klemm (T-17th, 77-79-156) and Mackenzie Douglas (30th, 82-78-160) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ win in Austin.
Arkansas Tech’s Cintia Bolanos (T-22nd, 80-78-158) competed at Onion Creek as an individual.
It was the second tournament win of the season for the Golden Suns, who captured the team title at the University of Central Oklahoma RCB Classic during the fall portion of their 2018-19 schedule.
Arkansas Tech will return to action March 4-5 at the Southern Nazarene University Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational at KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
