Arkansas Tech University defeated Dallas Diesel 98-86 in an exhibition women’s basketball game at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Sunday.
The Golden Suns jumped out to a 24-9 advantage after the first quarter and maintained the lead the remainder of the afternoon.
Arkansas Tech was 10-of-24 (44 percent) from 3-point range, and it finished with a 54-41 rebounding edge.
Five Golden Suns reached double figures in scoring, led by Fatima Adams with 19 points. Danielle Frachiseur came off the bench to notch 16 points. Adams and Frachiseur tied for game-high honors in rebounds with 13 apiece.
Bre Brooks and Calli White added 12 points apiece for Arkansas Tech, while Caroline Eubanks contributed 10 points.
Chantoya Hawkins scored a game-high 30 points for Dallas Diesel, a touring team of former collegiate players.
The Golden Suns will begin their 2015-16 regular season by hosting Lane College for a non-conference contest at Tucker Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 14. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
