Arkansas Tech University and Hendrix College will meet in women’s basketball for the first time in almost 24 years on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
The Golden Suns won their most recent game against the Warriors 58-41 on Dec. 10, 1994.
Tuesday will mark the final pre-conference contest for the 2018-19 ATU women’s basketball team. The Golden Suns will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 29, with a Great American Conference game against Ouachita Baptist University. Tip-off at Vining Arena in Arkadelphia is set for 5:30 p.m.
Tech’s home GAC debut is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, against Henderson State University.

About the Golden Suns: Arkansas Tech defeated Ecclesia College 149-44 on Wednesday. The Golden Suns have four players averaging double figures in scoring through the first three games of the season: junior forward Alicia Mardis (12.7 points per game), sophomore guard Jacie Higgins (12.7 points per game), sophomore guard Ashley Breathitt (10.3 points per game) and sophomore guard Jayana Sanders (10 points per game). ATU’s women have not suffered a non-conference loss at home since a 67-60 setback against Benedict College on Dec. 14, 2014.
About the Warriors: Hendrix College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Southern Athletic Association. The Warriors reached the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2017 and fell just short of a return visit in 2018 after dropping a 70-69 decision to Oglethorpe University in the SAA Tournament championship game. So far this season Hendrix has secured wins over the University of the Ozarks (73-63) and Centenary College (75-68). Austin College defeated the Warriors 65-54 on Sunday. Sophomore guard Vinessa Daniel (28 points per game) is the Warriors’ leading scorer in 2018-19.
