Dandy Dozen: Tech's Win Streak Reaches 12

Arkansas Tech remained undefeated in Great American Conference play and extended its winning streak to 12 consecutive volleyball matches with a straight sets victory over Southern Arkansas in Magnolia on Tuesday.

The Golden Suns (12-1 overall, 3-0 GAC) defeated the Lady Muleriders 25-21, 25-13, 25-20 in front of a crowd of 308 at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

Laura Farney made 14 kills for Arkansas Tech, which finished the match with a team hitting percentage of .344 (41 kills, 9 attack errors, 93 total attempts).

Amber Cerrillos (photographed) notched her third double-double of the season and her first in GAC play. Cerrillos was credited with 29 assists and 13 digs.

Brennae Benda added 11 digs and Sara Motsinger had three blocks for the Golden Suns.

Ashlie Arnold led SAU (6-5, 1-2) with 17 assists and 10 digs.

The Golden Suns will make another trip to Lower Arkansas on Thursday, Sept. 22, when they visit the University of Arkansas at Monticello Cotton Blossoms. First serve at Steelman Field House will be at 7 p.m.
