Golden Suns Take GAC Lead Alone

Arkansas Tech University’s McCall Wilkins matched her season high with 15 kills to lead the Golden Suns to a 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, 25-19 Great American Conference volleyball win over Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva, Okla., on Friday night.

Wilkins made just one attack error in 23 attempts and completed the match with a .609 hitting percentage.

The Golden Suns hit .308 as a team (57 kills, 17 errors, 130 total attempts).

With the win, Arkansas Tech (15-7 overall, 7-1 GAC) assumed sole possession of first place in the GAC standings. Oklahoma Baptist University (13-9, 7-2) suffered a five-set loss at the University of Arkansas-Monticello on Friday.

Hunter Eshnaur had 12 kills and 21 digs for the Golden Suns in their victory, while Kaylee Konsella and Kenzie Dozier notched nine kills apiece.

Setters Amanda Milnick (26 assists) and Sarah Rosinke (17 assists) directed Tech’s efficient offensive attack.

Milnick also contributed 13 digs. Matti Dix chipped in 11 digs and five service aces.

The Golden Suns will visit Southwestern Oklahoma State University for a 2 p.m. GAC match in Weatherford, Okla., on Saturday, Oct. 15.
