Golden Suns Stay at No. 5 in Nation

Arkansas Tech will enjoy a 19th consecutive week in the top 10 of the USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II women’s basketball top 25 poll.

The Golden Suns (16-2 overall, 5-1 Gulf South Conference) remained at the No. 5 position when the latest poll was released on Tuesday, Feb. 1. In fact, the entire top five of the poll remained unchanged from last week.

Arkansas Tech’s women have now been nationally-rankedĀ in 23 consecutive polls dating back to Dec. 8, 2009.

The Golden Suns stayed at No. 5 following GSC wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist last week. Tech moved into sole possession of second place in the GSC West Division behind nationally third-ranked Delta State (18-1, 6-1) with the victories.

Arkansas Tech will host Henderson State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, and Southern Arkansas at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5. Both games will be played at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville. Tickets will be available at the door and those with a valid Tech identification card will be admitted free.
