Golden Suns, Savage Storm Meet Saturday

Junior forward Fatima Adams scored a career-high 35 points  for the Golden Suns, while senior forward Jacinda Myers-Sanders had her first double-double of the season (18 points and 11 rebounds). Arkansas Tech defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State 86-75 in their first meeting of the 2014-15 season on Jan. 15. Sophomore guard Anissa Pounds made 5-of-8 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc and finished with 21 points. She led all players and established a new career high with nine rebounds. Tech defeated SOSU 84-53 in the 2014 GAC Tournament first round. Myers-Sanders had 20 points and 10 rebounds in that victory. The Golden Suns are seeking their second berth in the GAC Tournament championship game. They won the tournament title in 2013. About the Savage Storm: Southeastern Oklahoma State defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State University 101-92 in the GAC Tournament first round on Thursday. Senior guard Emily Williams scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Savage Storm to victory. Williams has averaged 23.5 points per game in her last four regular season contests against Arkansas Tech. She was 0-of-8 from the field and did not score in the Savage Storm’s loss to the Golden Suns in the 2014 GAC Tournament.
